The Role: This role supports the Safety Department by receiving, researching, recording, and processing driver and owner‑operator violations across Canada and the U.S., while maintaining accurate compliance and disciplinary records. The position also liaises with drivers, internal departments, auditors, and legal counsel to ensure regulatory compliance, timely follow‑up, and effective safety reporting.

Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday

Summary:

This position is responsible for activities related to Safety.  Also, responsible for receiving and processing all violations received by owner-operator or driver. Provide assistance to the Safety Department.

1.  Violations Department

  • Receive, research, record and enter Ontario, Quebec and US violation data.
  • Research offender's history of violations and record in Lotus Notes discipline file.
  • Receive monthly CVOR report and compare to CVOR database.  Identify if any items were not reported and research discipline history of   offender.  Record in discipline file.
  • Maintain all North American violation files.
  • Under the Director of Safety's direction, generate, distribute and file driver's disciplinary notices.
  • Distribute letters and billing paperwork to appropriate departments
  • Receive, research and process all spotter reports and road observations. Issue appropriate notices to drivers
  • Receive, research and process all unreported trailer defects.  Issue appropriate notices to drivers
  • Assist in regulatory audits and external audits requested by customers
  • Prepare paperwork and appoint legal counsel in contesting fines and follow-up
  • Maintain all the violations statistics. 

2. Compliance:  Driver Contact/files

  • Follow up with drivers for missing paperwork
  • Contact drivers to ensure fine payments
  • Obtain driver statements when required for accidents, court cases, or violations
