<p>Our client, a<br>large construction supply wholesaler<br>, is seeking a highly motivated<br>Senior Accountant<br>to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting and general ledger maintenance. This role is vital to the company's overall success, requiring a professional with a strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and confidentiality. It's not just about what they do — it's about how they do it, and that's what makes it a great place to work.</p><p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Perform general ledger account reconciliations.</li><li>Facilitate and complete monthly closing procedures.</li><li>Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.</li><li>Lead, manage and train a team of five direct reports</li><li>Oversee fixed asset processing and reporting.</li><li>Conduct daily bank account reviews and weekly bank reconciliations.</li><li>Assist in streamlining expense procedures and invoice processing.</li><li>Manage sales tax reporting and other government reporting.</li><li>Prepare for and support various audit activities.</li><li>Document and monitor internal controls.</li><li>Assist with monthly bank reporting.</li><li>Monitor and report on positive pay exceptions.</li><li>Execute other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.</li></ul><p>Recommended Qualifications</p><ul><li>CPA designation or near completion is required.</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience,<br> two of which being in a large-scale inventory/distribution environment</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading, managing and training small cross-functional teams</li><li>Strong knowledge of ASPE principles, including controls and standards.</li><li>Proven analytical and business planning skills, with ability to research and escalate issues as necessary.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Proactive with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.</li><li>Strong team player capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.</li><li>Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>High level of attention to detail.</li><li>Experience with Infor sXe and TwL is an asset.</li></ul>Create Your Resume First
