Job Overview:
The Senior Manager of Subcontracts is responsible for developing departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. This role requires multidisciplinary expertise and a strong understanding of the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Senior Manager manages multiple teams, sets organizational priorities, and allocates resources effectively. They must identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. This position directly impacts business results by supporting projects, products, services, and technologies, and by developing policies and plans.
Compensation for a 2/1 rotation schedule ranges from 182,025 CAD to 232,191 CAD (this range covers contracted hours only). McDermott also offers a competitive total rewards package.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering (preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Subcontracts
- At least 10 years of Oil & Gas experience with an EPC or Operator
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of subcontract policies and processes
- Proven ability to develop, negotiate, and administer complex subcontracts and policies
- Effective in prioritizing tasks, monitoring progress, and meeting deadlines
- Experience working with multifunctional teams

Responsibilities:
- Support staffing plans for projects
- Manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts from inquiry to closeout
- Coordinate with Legal, Project Controls, Accounting, and Engineering regarding subcontract terms, progress, costs, payments, and technical content
- Develop subcontract sourcing documentation with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management
- Negotiate change orders and closeout matters
- Prepare subcontract reports following established procedures
- Maintain proper documentation using electronic systems
- Administer subcontracts in the field from award to closeout
- Supervise daily activities of support, technical, or production staff
- Resolve issues related to subcontract administration
- Address subcontract execution issues within own business line
- Review customer contracts and incorporate terms into subcontracts with legal assistance
- Provide daily direction to team members for successful subcontract execution
- Work with the budget holder to meet operational objectives
- Explain complex contract issues and obtain necessary agreements
- Manage employee performance through task assignments, skill assessments, and coaching
- Ensure compliance with McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure team understands responsibilities and authorities
- Complete mandatory training in a timely manner
