Stafingo Is Hiring - Senior IT Technical Writer (Public Sector Remote)


Stafingo is proud to support one of our public sector clients in the Greater Toronto Area on a high-impact digital health initiative. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Technical Writer to lead the development of a comprehensive technical integration guide for a next-generation healthcare interoperability framework.


This role is ideal for a seasoned documentation professional who excels at translating complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and developer-ready content. Position Details

Role: Senior IT Technical Writer

Location: Remote (must be within Ontario)

Contract Term: 113 Business Days

Submission Deadline: Dec 5th, 2025


Key Responsibilities:

The selected resource will play a critical role in creating a standardized, scalable technical guide to support API-based integrations across a provincial digital health ecosystem. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating closely with architects, developers, and product owners to gather requirements and technical insights
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive integration guide, including architecture descriptions, API specifications, app launch flows, and conformance requirements
  • Creating sequence diagrams, workflow visuals, and system architecture diagrams using industry-standard tools
  • Ensuring documentation aligns with organizational standards, accessibility requirements, and version control practices
  • Producing supplemental materials such as onboarding decks, FAQs, glossaries, and vendor support documentation
  • Providing full knowledge transfer and documentation handoff to the internal team before engagement completion


Required Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of continuous experience developing technical documentation for software integrations, API specifications, or system implementation guides
  • Strong ability to capture and synthesize complex technical details into clear, intuitive documentation
  • Advanced proficiency with diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Visio, sequencediagram.org, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating with technical stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of API fundamentals, REST principles, HTTP methods, JSON, YAML, Postman, and Confluence


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge of RESTful APIs, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and cloud-based architecture
  • Experience with healthcare data standards, including FHIR and SMART on FHIR
  • Familiarity with FHIR profiles, implementation guides, and EMR workflow integrations
  • Understanding of PHIPA and privacy considerations in healthcare IT
  • Experience documenting solutions deployed on AWS
  • Working knowledge of documentation repositories like GitHub or Confluence
