Our talent specialists provide recruitment services and customized solutions to find quality candidates.<br><br>Our member is looking to hire a <strong>skilled residential construction labourer, </strong>for their team in <strong>Oakville, ON</strong>. They will perform a mix of general manual work and specialized tasks that support various tradespeople throughout the building process.<br><br><strong>Job Description:<br />Details<br /></strong><ul><li><strong>Salary: </strong>$65,000 - $70,000/yr</li><li><strong>Location: </strong>Oakville, ON</li></ul><strong>Core Duties and Responsibilities</strong><br /><ul><li><strong>Site Preparation and Cleanup:</strong> Clearing debris, removing potential hazards, setting up safety barriers, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment are daily tasks.</li><li><strong>Material Handling:</strong> Loading, unloading, and transporting building materials (lumber, concrete, etc.) to the proper site locations, often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs).</li><li><strong>Assisting Skilled Tradespeople: </strong>Working closely with carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons, and other craft workers, providing support by fetching tools, holding materials, or helping set up equipment.</li><li><strong>Operating Tools and Machinery: </strong>Using a variety of hand and power tools (drills, saws, jackhammers, etc.).</li><li><strong>Building Temporary Structures:</strong> Erecting and dismantling scaffolding, bracing, to ensure a safe and accessible work area.</li><li><strong>Excavation and Groundwork:</strong> Performing tasks such as digging trenches and holes for foundations or utilities, backfilling holes, and compacting earth to fine-grade specifications.</li><li><strong>Basic Construction Tasks:</strong> Performing a variety of general construction tasks, such as basic painting, and assisting with demolition projects using prying bars and other tools, etc.</li><li><strong>Safety and Compliance: </strong>Adhering to all health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), identifying potential hazards, and reporting incidents to supervisors.</li></ul><strong>Key Skills Required</strong><br /><ul><li><strong>Physical Stamina and Strength:</strong> The job is physically demanding and requires the ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions.</li><li><strong>Mechanical and Building Knowledge:</strong> A basic understanding of construction techniques, materials, and the ability to read blueprints and follow instructions</li><li><strong>Teamwork and Communication: </strong>The ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members is essential for site coordination.</li><li><strong>Attention to Detail:</strong> Ensuring tasks are completed accurately and safely to meet project specifications and quality standards.</li><li><strong>Problem-Solving Skills:</strong> Identifying and helping to resolve issues that arise during the construction process</li></ul><strong>Please note, only qualified candidates will be contacted.</strong></p></p>
