<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p></p><p>Technical Lead (Electronics & Firmware)</p><p>Full-Time Position</p><p>Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days per week in MWHQ, Vancouver, BC)</p><p>Base Salary: $127,200</p><p></p><strong>About MistyWest</strong><p>MistyWest is a hardware engineering consultancy that exists to create novel technologies that enable a healthier planet and bring prosperity to all humankind, with a focus primarily on hardware projects that advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.</p><p></p><strong>About the Role</strong><p>As a Technical Lead at MistyWest, you’ll drive the technical vision and system design to solve client challenges. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborate closely with clients and project managers, and stay hands-on with key technologies like sensors, optics, and motion control to deliver innovative products across industries.</p><p></p>Accountabilities<ul><li>Understand client goals and define technical solutions that align with their vision</li><li>Translate product requirements into clear technical tasks and project plans</li><li>Guide the team through implementation, problem-solving, and delivery</li><li>Communicate effectively with clients, managing expectations and weekly check-ins</li><li>Own the product roadmap and ensure alignment across stakeholders</li><li>Ensure high-quality, technically sound deliverables</li><li>Lead complex, multi-party projects and collaborate with external partners</li><li>Identify opportunities for IP reuse and process improvements</li><li>Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal technical leadership</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field </li><li> Minimum 5 years leading complex electro mechanical or embedded product development, including hardware firmware integration </li><li> Strong hands on background in embedded systems design including MCU selection, schematics, PCB review, sensor integration, power management, and firmware development (C/C++) </li><li> Experience with hardware in the loop testing, system bring up, debugging with lab instruments, and reliability validation </li><li> Proven ability to plan and deliver projects using standard project management tools and practices </li><li> Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across electrical, firmware, mechanical, software, and manufacturing and working directly with clients and stakeholders </li><li> Excellent problem solving skills, high curiosity, and a learning oriented mindset </li><li> Asset.
