Hours: Monday Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm (flexibility required)

This is a new position.
Accountability:
The staff of Albion Neighbourhood Services is expected to be willing, when requested, to explain the reasons for a decision or action to other staff or community members, particularly when others are affected by the decision or action. When affected by programming, policies and procedures, staff are expected to offer information and opinions when relevant for the development of new or changing services, policies and procedures.
Supervised by: Youth Program Coordinator
Position Summary:
As a Youth Success Worker (Part-Time), you will play a key role in supporting the Learn ON programs mission to provide youth with accessible, impactful learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom. You will engage with young people ages 10-19, guiding them through dynamic, hands-on STEM experiences while fostering an environment of growth, curiosity, and creativity. By blending interactive learning with the values of Learn ON, youll help participants develop critical thinking skills, enhance their academic performance, and explore new areas of interest. Your role will include mentoring, supporting program activities, and helping youth connect their learning to real-world applications in a supportive and inclusive space, all while promoting the core goals of enhancing academic success, building resilience, and creating pathways for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
o Participate in the delivery of three core goals of the program

Social and Emotional Wellbeing
Life Skills
o Facilitate engaging STEM and educational activities aligned with the goals of the Learn ON program
o Provide mentorship and support to youth, fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging curiosity
o Snack preparation/Nutritional activities
o Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of workshops and activities
o Monitor attendance and track youth registrations through NFocus
o Collaborate with Youth Coordinator and youth team members to ensure alignment with program objectives
o Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages creativity and exploration
o Communicate regularly with program leaders to provide updates on youth progress and program feedback
o Assist in the evaluation and assessment of youth engagement and learning outcomes
o Attending youth program meetings with BGC Canada and other community initiatives
o Participate in ongoing professional development and trainings
Minimum Qualifications
o Post-secondary education in social service work, child and youth work, education, etc. or equivalent work experience within a culturally diverse community-based setting
o Proven skills in program design, development and evaluation
o Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing culturally diverse youth and children
o Demonstrated group facilitation skills
o Knowledge of services and community organizations for youth and children
o Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)
o Familiarity with STEM based activities
o Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership capacity in a team setting
o Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
o Multi-lingual skills an asset
o Knowledge of the Rexdale community and its agencies
