Ab Initio Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer with strong expertise in ETL development, data ingestion, and data warehousing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ab Initio, Snowflake, and Control-M, along with a solid understanding of database concepts and Agile methodologies. This role involves working on complex data integration frameworks, managing teams, and ensuring smooth onboarding of new datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Ab Initio and related tools.
• Implement data ingestion processes for onboarding new datasets from multiple source systems.
• Develop and support complex frameworks for diverse data ingestion patterns.
• Perform DB load/unload operations and optimize SQL queries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
• Manage scheduling using tools like Control-M, Maestro, or Autosys.
• Provide production support and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure effective communication with clients and manage team deliverables.
• Work with ticketing tools such as Jira and ServiceNow for issue tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ETL Tools: Proficiency in Ab Initio, Spark/Python.
• Database Expertise: Strong SQL skills; experience with Oracle, DB2, Teradata; knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.
• Unix/Linux: Familiarity with utilities like sed, awk, more.
• Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of concepts and best practices.
• Scheduling Tools: Hands-on experience with Control-M and similar tools.
• Framework Development: Ability to design and support complex ingestion frameworks.
• Agile Methodology: Prior experience in Agile project lifecycle.
• Tools: Familiarity with Jenkins, Jira, ServiceNow.
• Domain Knowledge: Finance background with exposure to capital markets products preferred.
• Team Management: Ability to lead teams, assign tasks, and foster collaboration.
• Support Experience: Prior experience in production support and issue resolution.
