<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $40.00 per hour<br /><p>HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (NOC 72401) </p><p>Company: Firma Contracting Inc.</p><p></p><p>Number of Positions: Two<br /></p><p></p><p>Location of work: Saskatoon</p><p></p><p>Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic</p><p><br><br></p><p>We are looking for competent and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to provide mechanical expertise to the Company&#39;s business. The successful candidates will be determined by their experience and attitude today working in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of 5+ years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment is required for this position; formal education or journeyperson certification would be an asset.<br /></p><p><br><br></p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>To provide some idea of the tasks you may be performing, a list of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Check excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.<br /></li><li>Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.<br /></li><li>Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.<br /></li><li>Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers&#39; specifications.<br /></li><li>Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.<br /></li><li>Service attachments and working tools such as buckets, blades, winches and booms.<br /></li><li>May perform repair work on heavy trucks.<br /></li><li>May attach components and adjust new equipment.<br /></li><li>Maintain service records and preventative maintenance for all equipment.<br /></li></ul><p></p><p>WORK ENVIRONMENT<br /></p><ul><li>Dangerous chemical substances<br /></li><li>Hazardous equipment, machinery, tools<br /></li><li>Indoors, not environmentally controlled<br /></li><li>Standard safety equipment<br /></li><li>Outside, exposed to weather<br /></li><li>Extreme temperatures<br /></li><li>Extremely bright or inadequate lighting<br /></li></ul><ul><li>Sound and noise<br /></li></ul><p>REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Requirements and qualifications for this position are a combination of skills and attitude:</p><ul><li>Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience and industry courses in heavy equipment repair.</li><li>Heavy-duty equipment technician trade certification is compulsory in Quebec (only in the construction industry) and Alberta and available, but voluntary, in all other provinces and the territories.</li><li>Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocational program is usually required.</li><li>Red Seal endorsement is also available to qualified heavy duty equipment technicians upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination.<br><br></li><li>Legally able to work in Canada</li></ul><p></p><p>Terms of Employment: Full time, permanent</p><p>Health and Dental Benefits: Yes</p><p>Language of Work: English (oral and written)</p><p>Wage: $37.50 per hour </p><p><br /></p></p></p>
